Power Rake FAQ'S

ABOUT THIS SERVICE :

The machine is passed over the whole yard, and the thatch which is pulled up is then hand raked and dumped.

Pricing is based on turf square footage.

The power rake machine has many thin spinning tines which "brush out" layers of thatch from the base of your turf.

HOW IT WORKS :

Thatch is organic debris such as old grass clippings, particles of leaves and weeds, etc. which settles at the base of your turf. When too much has built up, it begins to cause issues for your lawn. Sometimes it can block your grass roots from getting enough water, and in other instances it may trap moisture and cause mold or fungus. It is healthier for your grass to have thatch removed by a power rake every two years, or when thatch has built up.

Your lawn will need extra water for a week or two after this treatment as it recovers the areas where thatch was stifling its roots. (If you need sprinkler help, we can do that too).
